ODeL Teacher Accreditation Courses:

1. Technology in ODeL (10 Mar-18 Apr 2020)

This course shall help you utilize the different technologies that may be used in handling and facilitating Open and Distance e-Learning (ODeL). You will learn Moodle, one of the most well-known Learning Management Systems that can host virtual classrooms (such as MODeL). You will also learn other technologies that may be used to manage classes and develop materials.

2. Content Development for ODeL (10 Mar-18 Apr 2020)

You are probably used to creating materials such as handouts, presentations, quizzes and assignments for your class. As educators, we do all this to help guide our students in their learning. Content Development for ODeL ODeL is similar in many ways. This course will guide you through the principles and processes identifying and curating content and putting it all together in a study guide.

3. Designing Learning in ODeL (10 Mar-18 Apr 2020)

The course will introduce the principles and practice of designing for learning in ODeL contexts. At the end of the course, students are expected to explain the meaning and purpose of design for learning, differentiate ODeL course designs, discuss learning principles and processes and design an ODeL learning activity.

4. Assessment of Learning in ODeL (10 Mar-18 Apr 2020)

This course is about the processes, technologies and issues in the assessment of student learning in Open and Distance eLearning. Specifically, it discusses principles of assessing student learning,  perspectives on the assessment of student learning; preparing, and administering assessments; and lastly, evaluating assessment results. 

5. Quality Assurance in ODeL (25 Mar - 29 Apr 2020)

Since quality is an important aspect of education, the course focuses on quality assurance mechanisms that had been established and are being implemented by various institutions. Basic concepts of quality in ODeL and models of evaluating ODeL were included in the course. Various multimedia resources, as well as opportunities for interaction among learners, were provided. As basis for certification and to assess and facilitate own learning, assessments were done during the duration of the course.


Technology for Teaching and Learning

1. Teaching and Learning with Modern ICTs (10 Mar-18 Apr 2020)

This is a 6-week MOOC which describes the integration of modern ICTs into the teaching and learning process as well as the various social, ethical, and legal considerations in the use of modern ICTs.


Child Rights Protection and Promotion

1. Understanding the Child Better (18 Mar-29 Apr 2020)

This course is about theoretical perspectives on children and child development and children’s situation, with a focus on children in need of special protection. It aims to develop a better understanding of children as the foundation for the development and conduct of effective and relevant activities and programs in support of child rights protection and promotion. 


Oral Communication and Conversational Fluency

1. Oral Communication and Conversational Fluency (4 Mar-15 Apr 2020)

The course aims for you to develop listening and speaking skills necessary for a more successful communication in authentic contexts or real-life situations, using the English language. The learning activities will feature pronunciation practices, listening exercises, short speech delivery or oral presentations, and simulations of conversations.


Quick Guide on How to Convert your Courses Online

This MOOC Certification Category contains modules that will guide teachers on how to convert their courses to online mode of delivery.  It consists of 7 Modules.  For each module completed, the learner will receive the certificate of module completion, that is after completing the prescribed activities in the module.  After completing all the modules, the learner will also receive the Certification on Online Teaching from the UP Open University.
