Privacy Notice

The University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) collects and processes personal information necessary to provide learning services through MODeL. Depending on your use of the platform, this may include your name, email address, course registrations, learning activities, assessment records, certificates earned, and technical log information generated through your use of the system.

Your personal information is processed to:

• provide and manage online courses and learning activities;
• support learner participation and communication;
• administer assessments and issue certificates, where applicable;
• maintain learner and course records;
• ensure the security, integrity, and proper operation of the platform; and
• perform other legitimate academic and administrative functions in accordance with applicable laws and University policies.

Information visible to other learners

To support course interaction, other learners may only see your name when you participate in discussion forums and other collaborative learning activities. Other profile information is not visible to fellow learners.

If UPOU conducts activities that require your consent, such as research studies or the collection of personal information for purposes beyond the delivery of MODeL services, your consent will be requested separately.
